2007 / 2008 News

  • Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary hosted its second annual, “A Night at Our Museum", on April 24th.  Families participated in a gallery walk and then had the opportunity to experience a museums based project. 
  • Thanks for all of our community readers who took part in our Community Reads Day. (Photos)

  • Through many practices the Kids Theatre created sets, music, and a script called The New World of The Lost Colony. (Photos)

  • A Moving Museum is held once a month to celebrate accomplishments throughout the school. (Photos)

2006 / 2007 News

  • As part of the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Creating Original Opera Program, 5th graders at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School formed a company called Brooks Theater. (Photos)

  • After weeks of hard work and practice, the First In Fitness Team finally got it’s chance to compete against other area elementary schools at Sanderson High School, twenty two other schools to be exact! (Photos)


  • Thirty-five 4th and 5th grade students performed in this year’s Pieces of Gold performance.  Pieces of Gold is an annual arts extravaganza sponsored by the Wake Education Partnership and the Wake County Public School System. (Photos)

  • NC Museum of Natural Sciences Educator, Eve Vitaglione, was a guest speaker at Brooks. Recently, she returned from her exciting winter adventures at Yellowstone National Park. (Photos)


  • The Spotlight on Students program honors students who have excelled in a number of areas. Each year at a special ceremony the Board of Education honors selected students for outstanding achievements and accomplishments. (Photos)

  • Morning Meetings at Brooks Elementary was the featured in The School Connection Students and staff at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School start each school day with a morning meeting. See how this four-part meeting helps get the day started out right. (Photos)

  • Reflections Finalists 2007. (Photos)

  • The Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School Community was the featured audience at the live filming of the CBS Early show with Dave Price on Friday Sept.29th at the Farmers Market. (Photos)

  • The Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School invited parents / guardians to join in with their children in learning in the classroom. (Photos)

  • During a teacher workday, the staff explored Morning Meeting, the Natural Science Museum, History Museum, and Exploris to create guided field trips. (Photos)

  • Brooks Museums Magnet School Community took part in National Walk to School Day. About 80 participants took part in this activity. (Photos)

  • The fourth grade students invited the community to enjoy artwork that was created in the school by the students. (Photos)

  • The Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School participated in Wake County's Magnet Fair. (Photos)

  • Fourth grade working on different aspects of their unit which featured various colonial day activities. (Photos)
