PTA Welcome Letter

A note from the PTA President:

Thank you for visiting the Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School PTA website.  We are very proud of the work that we are doing and invite you to join us.  In fact, simply by taking the time to peruse our website, you are actively participating in your child’s education by becoming more informed.

The Purposes of the PTA are:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place
    of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and
    spiritual education.

At Brooks, our children learn and live in a community.  We believe that all children should have the same opportunities to create projects that demonstrate their understanding as well as articulate their thinking through conversation.  The PTA participates in all facets of the students’ education by providing educational tools for the classrooms, allocating funds for field trips, sponsoring performing arts both by professional artists and our own students, and preparing our children to compete in a technological world.

The Brooks PTA advocates for all children, knowing that one child’s success can move mountains.  We provide education and opportunities for our parents and families.  We encourage our neighboring community to participate in the programs at Brooks because we want as many people as possible invested in our children’s education.  In turn, our students bring their ideas and imagination to the community by displaying visual arts and performing outside of the school.

My hope is that all children at Brooks are assured of three things:

  1. They are known.  At Brooks each child is recognized for his or her unique contributions.  Our differences are our strengths.
  2. They are valued.  We know that every child has the ability to learn and to achieve his or her greatest potential.
  3. They belong.  Every child at Brooks is an integral member of our community.

Please come and be part of the PTA at Brooks.  Your time is the greatest gift to the children.
