It is against school policy for students to have cell phones on the Brooks' school grounds.
All phones will be confiscated and given to Mrs. Locklear. They will only be given to a
student's parent (not back to the student).
• To minimize disruptions to classroom instruction, please do not pick up your child
between the hours of 3:10-3:35 unless there is an emergency or you have a doctor's note. |

Parents: It is very important that you keep a close eye on your children while waiting for students to be released from school at the end of the day. There have been some incidences that could have resulted in serious injury to unsupervised children. Thank you. |

If you are, some of these definitions may help your transition:
Parent Curator = lead parent in a classroom. Each Classroom will have at least one Parent Curator. This person will be a liaison between your teacher and you. S/he will communicate with you about needs in the classroom and upcoming events.
No Fuss Fundraiser = This is our primary fundraiser in the fall. You don’t sell anything. 100% of your money goes towards our school.
EOG = “End of Grade” Testing – NC EOG tests are administered to all students in grades 3-8 statewide at the end of the school year to assess whether they are making adequate progress.
Moving Museum = Last Friday of each month (except Nov & Dec) at 3:15pm. Come join in the fun by cheering on our students in this great tradition at Brooks. Honored students parade through the hallways while their classmates, school staff and parents cheer them on.
Early Release = these are scheduled in advance. Students are dismissed early (usually 12:30pm). It is the parents’ responsibility to make transportation arrangements on Early Release days.
PTA Meetings = Third Thursday of every month. They start at 6:30pm and are held in the media center. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND.
Volunteering = Every person who would like to volunteer in the classroom, on field trips or during special events MUST register with Wake County EVERY year. Please go to the media center where there are computers you can use to register. This MUST be done either at school or at the WCPSS website.
Box Tops = simply cut the box top stamp from participating merchandise packaging and send them to school with your child. The PTA will take care of sending them in for reimbursement. |
