Dr. Nan Lujan

"As the Principal of Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School, I am proud of the unique learning experiences our students receive every day. Brooks is the only school in Wake County that implements the Paideia Seminar model, which empowers students to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and engage in thoughtful dialogue with their peers. Our students also participate in an average of four study-guided field trips each year, allowing them to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Through object-based learning, students use artifacts and primary sources as starting points for inquiry, helping bring their units of study to life. By leveraging strong partnerships with local museums, we provide authentic learning experiences that connect academic content with the world around us and inspire curiosity in every student."

Principal

Dr. Jeremy Spielman

"The National Paideia Center is proud to partner with Brooks Museums Magnet in nurturing creative and critical thinkers from the very beginning. When young students learn to share their ideas, listen to one another, and engage in real dialogue, they don’t just grow as learners, they inspire growth in all of us."
